Many attendees at the Inspiring Champions camp seminars share the same goals. Yet when attendees are asked how much more money they want to earn or for any specifics about career plans, it is apparent they haven’t yet clearly identified their goals. “In 1954 in Oxford, England, Roger Bannister became the first man to break the four minute mile,” Gartland asserts. “Doctors said it was physically impossible. Yet once he broke that record and the world saw that is was actually possible – within 45 days, 16 other runners had broken it too. Once the belief was there, others overcame the obstacle. We’re showing salon professionals that once they believe in themselves they can achieve any goal, once they take action.” The first step is having attendees define those goals, while also establishing where their businesses currently stand. “When you use MapQuest™ to get driving directions, it asks you where you currently are and where you want to go,” notes Gartland. “If you didn’t know where you were, it would be impossible to get directions!”

Crunching some numbers, attendees calculate their daily salon service and retail totals and create a new target income. An average for daily service dollars may be around $200. The new target to double their daily income now becomes $400. Attendees then calculate the gap of $200 and figure out how to create extra income with the current client load in their books. How can the gaps be filled in? Champ Camp offers intensive training on just how to accomplish this feat. It begins with learning how to perform the perfect consultation to determine the needs and challenges of clients. “With the consultation, we are creating self-awareness for the client and showing them the possibilities that they may not even have realized,” notes Gartland. Specific training is also shown on how to implement upselling, how to properly retail, how to successfully pre-book appointments, attract new clients, create the ideal client and how to provide customer success instead of just customer service.

“Ultimately, we teach how to provide an experience to clients instead of just a salon visit,” says Gartland. “We show how to provide solutions instead of sell products and services.
